In an interview with Radio Daljir, local FM based in Puntland, Puntland Defence Forces (PDF) commander, Major General Saeed Mohamed Hersi also called (Saeed Dheere) said that the government forces killed at least 25 Al-Shabab militants in the Galgala Mountains a day earlier.
“We killed 25 militants including top leaders in the Galgala Mountains a day earlier,” he said, adding that the government will continue the fighting to defeat the militants.
Hundreds of militants from Al-Shabab attacked a military base in Af urur Village of Galgala Mountains Thursday, at least 40 Puntland soldiers and a number of civilians including women and children were killed in the attack, according to security sources.
