Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has reshuffled his cabinet today, Sunday, according to a statement from the Prime minister’s office.
The reshuffle targeted key ministries, including the Ministry of Interior Affairs, whose minister was reassigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, a new appointee has taken up the role of Minister of Interior Affairs.
Ali Yusuf Ali Hoosh, a veteran politician from Puntland and current federal parliamentarian, was appointed as Minister of Interior Affairs. He has previously held various positions within the Puntland administration.
Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, who served as the Minister of Interior for the past two years, has been moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This ministry has been without a minister since the departure of the previous minister, Abshir Omar Huruse, in January 2024.
