Galkayo-(Puntland Mirror) One child was died and two others were wounded by a landmine blast in the Garsor village of Galkayo town, medical sources confirmed to Puntland Mirror.

The incident happened in Galkayo on Monday morning, when a landmine exploded as the children were playing in the area.

The wounded children were taken to the hospital and they are in good condition, according to the medical officials.

It is unclear if the mine was recent or one left over from previous conflict.

Puntland and Galmudug forces have fought in Galkayo town of Mudug region over the last weeks.

In the war-torn country, children are the most common victims of landmine blast and explosive devices. They are often not aware of the dangers of these items.
