Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) During the past few weeks, warships from European Union particularly, Spain and France have arrived off the Somalia coast, according to sources.

The Spanish flagship, ESPS Galicia, and French frigate, FS Courbet, arrived off the coast of Somalia to conduct operations against Somali pirates, according to the EUNAVFOR in the water of Somalia.

The warships with helicopters will carry out coordinated patrols along the Somali coast.

Meanwhile, Puntland sent divisions of maritime forces to the coastal areas of Puntland to thwart acts of piracy, as an officer within Puntland maritime police forces (PMPF) confirmed to Puntland Mirror.
