Journalist Ahmed Kismayo dies in India

Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) Veteran Journalist Ahmed Mohamed Ali also called (Ahmed Kismayo) has died at hospital in Hyderabad of India, he was diagnosed with throat disease, his family confirmed to Puntland Mirror.

Ahmed Kismayo began his journalistic career in 1980 at state-owned Radio Mogadishu.

In 1999, he joined BBC Somali service where he reporting in Puntland regions.

In 2013, he became director of state-run Puntland TV.

In 2016, he was appointed as the chairman of the Puntland Electoral Commission, but he resigned several months later due to personal reasons.

He was the author of several books including Hoygii Samata-baxa and Layliga Suxufiga.
