They also proposed to preserve Puntland’s democratic process and to agree on a fifth annex that would complete the Puntland democracy program without reverting to the clan system.
The politicians have called for the amendment of the Puntland constitution to be halted. They also stated that the presidential election will be held on January 8, 2024.
They also proposed that the nine registered political associations in Puntland be granted party status for a period of five years, allowing them to participate in the next election of the House of Representatives.
Finally, they suggested that the election of the Members of Parliament (MPs) for the Sool, Sanaag, and Ayn regions should be conducted under the supervision of the traditional leaders of those regions.
