Galkayo-(Puntland Mirror) Puntland’s President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has dissolved the local council of Galkayo district on Monday, according to the government spokesman.
Speaking to the reporters in Galkayo, the presidential spokesman Abdullahi Mohamed Jama has confirmed that the President officially dissolved the local council of Galkayo.
According to the spokesman President Ali has appointed Mohamed Yasin Tumay as acting mayor of Galkayo.
The development comes a time when at least three government officials were assassinated in Galkayo during past month.
