Somali PM declined to comment stalemate in the Ministry of the Interior

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre declined to comment rapidly when Interior Minister Abdi Farah Saeed Juha dismissed Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior Yahye Ali Ibrahim, sources told Puntland Mirror.

Puntland Mirror understand Khayre and Yahye come from the same clan.

On Saturday, Minister Juha fired Yahye, accusing mismanagement, injustice and lack of co-operation.

Shortly after the Minister issued a decree to sack Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, Deputy Interior Minister and State Minister of Interior issued another decrees conflicting the Juha’s decision to sack Yahye.

Reliable sources told Puntland Mirror, there was a closed-door meeting between PM Khayre and Deputy Interior Minister and State Minister of Interior in which Khayre backed their decision against the decree of Juha.

By law, the Interior Minister has the right to dismiss the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior.

However, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is expected to intervene in the deadlock after the Prime Minister failed to solve the stalemate.
