Puntland’s vice president vows to liberate Qandala coastal town from ISIS militants

Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) The vice president of Puntland Abdihakim Omar Amay has vowed to liberate Qandala from ISIS militants.

“Our armed forces are ready to retake Qandala town from the militants,” Mr Amay told Radio Daljir local FM.

“God willing, we will recapture it from their hands as soon.” He added.

Last month, more than 50 pro-ISIS militants led by ex-Al-Shabab leader Abdikadir Mumin had captured Qandala coastal town of Bari region, and the town is still under the ISIS control, according to the residents.
