Puntland says its forces kill more than 20 Galmudug fighters in Mudug region

Galkayo-(Puntland Mirror) Somalia’s Puntland says its forces have killed more than 20 of Galmudug fighters in fighting on Saturday afternoon on the southern outskirts of Galkayo town in Mudug region, commander said.

Jimale Jama Takar, the commander of Danab unit forces, told reporters that their forces had killed more than 20 of Galmudug fighters.

“Our forces killed more than 20 of Galmudug fighters who attacked our bases on the outskirts of Galkayo.” Jimale said

“We burnt three armed vehicles belonging to the Galmudug during the fighting,” the commander added.

Meanwhile, at least two of Puntland forces were killed in the Saturday’s attack, according to the commander.

Puntland forces and Galmudug militants frequently fought over territory in recent years.
