The strike occurred about 74 miles northwest of Mogadishu on Thursday, the U.S. military’s Africa Command said in a statement on Friday.
No civilians were killed in the attack, the statement added.
“U.S. forces will continue to use all authorized and appropriate measures to protect U.S. citizens and to disable terrorist threats.” AFRICOM said.
The U.S. increased its attacks against Al-Shabab since President Donald Trump gave more powers to AFRICOM to carry out strikes targeting the armed group in Somalia.
