Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) Five Puntland’s Maritime Police Force (PMPF) were killed and another six were wounded in a roadside bomb blast in Sugure area of the Bari mountainous area on Saturday, security sources said.
PMPF director Abdirabi Abdisamad confirmed the death of the soldiers in a tribute post on PMPF Facebook.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, but Al-Shabab terrorist group conducted similar attacks against Puntland forces.
Puntland forces have been battling Al-Shabab in the mountainous areas of Sanaag and Bari regions since 2010.
