AMISOM spokesman says troops will abandon Mogadishu national stadium

The national Somali Sports Committee says that they are dire in need of the Mogadishu national stadium which is now occupied the African Union troops who are part of the peace making mission in Somalia.

The African Union spokesman Major Joe Kibet speaking to the Somali National News Agency on Saturday has said that the African Union troops which are occupying the National Stadium will be vacating soon.

“I would like to inform you that soon the African Union troops at the national stadium will be vacating the stadium, and will be located in another location, but I have no specific date and time to share with you” said the AU spokesman Kibet.

Mogadishu International Stadium is built by the People’s Republic of China and is a multiple stadium i.e. it has a swimming arena, basketball arena, field and truck and so many other sports parts.
