Al-Shabab says its fighters kill 40 Ethiopian soldiers in Central Somalia

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somalia’s al-Shabab armed group said it had killed at least 40 Ethiopian troops after the militant stormed Ethiopian troops base in central Somalia on Thursday morning.

Residents in Halgan area of central region in Somalia said they heard a huge explosion at the base and a heavy exchange of gunfire shortly before dawn on Thursday.

The AU mission which Ethiopia is one of five countries contributing troops to the country has confirmed the attack but they declined to give more details about the storm.
