Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) The summit of the heads of state of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has opened in Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud who hosted the summit has officially opened the IGAD summit.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyata, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hialemariam Deslagen and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni are the high-level dignitaries who attended the summit.
The IGAD summit will be the first held in Somalia since the body’s formation 30 years ago, according to Somali officials.
According to the sources, the summit will focus on the situations of Somalia and South Sudan.
