Amisom forces stopped Somalia’s Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management to get into Halane base in Mogadishu. [Photo: Archive]
Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Amisom forces on Wednesday stopped Somalia’s Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management when she tried to get into Halane base in Mogadishu, she said on her Twitter.

Mrayan Qasim Ahmed said on her Twitter feed that she and her female staff were stopped by Amisom soldiers, as she tried to get into Halane base.

“We are working under difficult circumstances in Somalia but there is no excuse for behaviour I saw today from Amisom soldiers,” she tweeted.

“Condescending behavior from Amisom soldiers towards me & my female staff today at Medina Gate is unacceptable.”

According to sources, the minister wanted to attend a meeting at the base.

Halane base is heavily guarded area in Mogadishu, which is home to UN offices and Western embassies.

Amisom officials did not comment on the halt against the minster.
