Puntland President vows to execute al-Shabab prisoners if al-Shabab will not stop killing of civilians

Garowe-(Puntland) Puntland’s President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali said on Thursday that the Puntland government will execute al-Shabab fighters in Puntland prisons if the militant will not stop killing of region’s civilians.

Speaking with journalists in Garowe President Ali said that they have more al-Shabab prisoners in Puntland jails and vowed to kill if the group do not halt killing of civilians.

“We have more al-Shabab fighters in our prisons if they do not stop murdering of our people we will execute their fighters in the prisons,” President Ali said.

He added if the group kills one civilian his government will kill 20 of them who are in the state’s jails.

Puntland President’s speech comes after suspected al-Shabab gunmen shot dead head of Mudug’s women association Dhudi Yousuf Adan on Wednesday afternoon in Galkayo town.
