The fresh fighting on Sunday began in the Marshaad Mountainous area near Qandala coastal town, security source in Puntland army, who requested anonymity, told Puntland Mirror.
There are no details about casualties so far, according to the source.
In December last year, the two militants fought in Bir Mirali, south west of Qandala in Bari region.
