Galkayo–(Puntland Mirror) Puntland and Galmudug have successfully halted the ongoing clan fighting in Mudug and deployed integrated forces to the conflict zones, according to statements from officials on Sunday.

The cessation of hostilities comes after a concerted effort led by ministerial delegates from both states. This collaborative intervention has brought a temporary end to the violence that has plagued the region.

Officials announced that the next critical step is to initiate reconciliation dialogues in Galkayo. These discussions aim to address and resolve the underlying issues that have led to repeated clashes, the latest of which resulted in approximately 30 casualties on both sides.

The regional administrations hope that through dialogue and continued cooperation, they can establish lasting peace and stability in Mudug.
