Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) A Somali military court in Mogadishu on Monday sentenced Ahmed Abdullahi Abdi to death over the killing of Somali Minister for Public Works and reconstruction who killed in Mogadishu last month.

Chairman of Somalia’s first-tier tribunal Colonel Hassan Ali Nour Shuute has announced the final decision of the court.

Somalia’s public works and reconstruction minister Abbas Abdullahi Siraji was shot dead in Mogadishu. Siraji was killed when the bodyguards of Somalia’s auditor general opened fire on a car carrying the minister.

The court also ordered the release of Osman Salad Bare, who was one of the defendants arrested in connection with killing the minister.
