The strike took place about 46 km northeast of Kismayo port town in Lower Juba province, according to AFRICOM, adding that no civilians were killed.
This is the second attack against Al-Shabab in August. A U.S. airstrike earlier this month in northwest of Mogadishu killed four militants.
