Somali government forces says at least 8 Al-Shabab fighters killed in Lower Juba region

Kismayo-(Puntland Mirror) Somali government forces backed by AMISOM troops have killed at least 8 Al-Shabab fighters in a rural area close to Berhano village in lower Jubba region of Somalia, state-run Sonna news agency reported on Tuesday.

Speaking to Sonna, Somali national army commander Gen. Ali Bashi confirmed that the Somali government forces backed by AMISOM troops carried out an operations and killed at least 8 fighters of Al-Shabab armed group.

The latest government’s claim of killing Al-Shabab fighters comes amid the Somali forces and AMISOM launches more intensive operations against positions of Al-Shabab fighters in Lower Jubba and Middle Jubba regions.
