Puntland warns Somaliland over movement in Sool and Sanaag

In an interview with Radio Daljir, Puntland’s Information Minister Abdi Hersi Ali Qarjab said that it would not accept Somaliland’s movements in the region.

“We are aware that Somaliland is trying to bring ballot boxes to Sool and Sanaag regions, if they did not stop the intervention it will find a suitable answer,” Qarjab said.

“Constitutionally, the two regions are part of our land. Puntland and its people are defending their territory.” He added.

Puntland and Somaliland have fought over Sool and Sanaag for more than a decade.
