National armed forces to deploy into Galkayo, Somalia’s minister of information appeals

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somalia’s minister of information, Mohamed Abdi Hayir Mareye has called on the Somali federal government to deploy forces into Galkayo town to intercept the ongoing fight between the Puntland forces and Galmudug militias.

“We call to the Somalia’s national armed forces. On behalf of the prime minister, the government of Somalia is calling up on to the deployment of troops into Galkayo town to intercept the ongoing violence between Puntland and Galmudug”. The minister, Mohamed Abdi Hayir said.

“Also, the government is appealing for intellectuals, including the traditional and religious leaders to intervene the ongoing conflict there’’. He added.

At least 10 people died in recent clashes in Galkayo town between Puntland forces and Galmudug militias.
