Abdihakim Moalin Dahir, a Puntland lawmaker was killed near classic hotel in Galkayo by armed men with pistols, according to source.
One of his guards also killed in the attack, the source added.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the killing, but Al-Shabab militant group claimed several killings targeted Puntland officials in Galkayo over the past years.
