Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) Work has begun on the first urban water drainage system in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, in a major step aimed at addressing the city’s long-standing flooding problems.
The project, funded by the World Bank under Nagaad ptroject, is expected to improve the city’s ability to manage heavy rains by directing excess water away from roads and residential areas. Local officials say the drainage system will play a key role in protecting infrastructure and improving public health during the rainy seasons.
