Floods kill at least two people in Nugal region

A mother and her son drowned while trying to cross a stream in Qundheed area under Dangorayo district of  Nugal region, according to the residents.

Heavy rains are expected to lash Puntland regions over the next few days, according to weather forecasters.

Last week, Puntland government has warned rural communities to move to higher grounds in order to avoid possible dangers of the rain.

The rain comes as the region faces a severe drought, which killed hundreds of livestock.
