Bosaso-(Puntland Mirror) More than 400 of Qandala residents have fled their homes, fearing clashes after pro-ISIS militants arrived there, residents said.
Mohamed Hersi, a resident in Bosaso port town of Bari region, told Puntland Mirror most of the displaced had moved to Bosaso.
“More than 400 residents from Qandala town arrived in Bosaso today by boats,” Hersi said.
“Bari regional officials received the displaced people, mostly were women and children,” he added.
The move comes three days after pro-ISIS militants lead by ex-Al-Shabab leader Abdikadir Mumin captured the coastal town, but later vacated after Puntland deployed more forces to the area.
