At least seven killed in suicide attack on Somali CID headquarters in Mogadishu

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) At least 12 people including two attackers were killed in suicide attack targeting Somali CID headquarters in the Somali capital, Mogadishu on Sunday morning, according to the Reuters, citing police officials.

Al-Shabab armed group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

“A fighter rammed a suicide car bomb into CID then other armed fighters stormed inside. We are now fighting inside the CID building,” Abdiasis Abu Musab, al Shabab’s military operations spokesman, told the Reuters news agency.

Last week, al-Shabab suicide bombers launched an early morning attack on AMISOM base in Mogadishu that killed 13 people, most of them were AMISOM and UN security guards.
