Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) Puntland has released the MV Sea World, a ship that had been held at Bosaso port for the past two weeks for carrying weapons.

In a statement issued Monday, the Puntland presidency said the decision came after the Turkish government provided documents proving the weapons on board belonged to them.

The release followed a meeting in Bosaso between Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni and Turkey’s ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, who visited the city earlier today.

The ship was seized by Puntland’s Maritime Police Force (PMPF) on July 18 in the Gulf of Aden and was later brought to Bosaso for investigation.
