Garowe-(Puntland Mirror) Puntland forces thwarted an ISIS suicide bomb attack in the Miiraale area of the Al-Miskaat Mountains early Saturday, according to army sources.
Pictures posted on Telegram show the dead bodies of ISIS fighters, most of whom were foreigners.
On Friday, the forces attacked one of ISIS’s bases in Miiraale, where the remaining militants had regrouped.
Puntland launched an offensive against ISIS in early January this year to eliminate the terrorist militia. The forces successfully liberated most of the ISIS stronghold areas during the operation, in which dozens of ISIS fighters were also killed.
