U.S. airstrikes kill scores of Al-Shabab fighters in Mudug region

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) U.S. said it killed 37 Al-Shabab fighters in airstrikes in Somalia.

The strikes occurred in Mudug region in central Somalia on Monday, U.S. Africa Command said in a statement.

There were no civilian casualties from the attacks, it added.

The U.S. has stepped up its airstrikes against Al-Shabab militant group in Somalia since the beginning of 2017, but the militant remain in southern part of the country, it also carries out deadly attacks in the capital, Mogadishu.
