Somali police officer shot dead in Mogadishu

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Unidentified gunman have shot dead Somali police officer in Karan district of Mogadishu, official said.

The spokesman of the ministry of security, Abdimalik Malin Shukri told to the local media that the police officer was killed in Mogadishu on Saturday evening.

The killed officer was identified as Col. Ali Adow Mohamoud and he was the police of Karan district in the capital, Mogadishu.

The gunmen fled the scene after the killing, according to the spokesman.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killing, but al-Shabab armed group often carried out such attacks which targeted security officials of the government.
