Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Former Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo stated that the official term of Somalia’s lawmakers ended today, April 14, 2026, and that they can no longer pass any laws.
In a statement, he added that President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud also has only one month remaining in his term in office.
Farmajo called on the incumbent president to urgently present a plan for the next election to avoid long-lasting political, security, and economic implications.
