At least 2 dead in Las anod clan fighting

Las anod-(Puntland Mirror) At least two people have been killed and five others were wounded in a heavy clan fighting in Las anod town of Sool region on Tuesday, residents said.

The battle between the two clan militias broke out in Las anod town in the morning of Tuesday, according to the residents.

“The battle has erupted in the town early morning and all the business centers have been locked due to the fighting,” a resident in Las anod, who demanded not to be named, told to the Puntland Mirror.

The fighting follows a heavy clan fighting over the last weeks in Sool region, which left at least 20 dead.

Las anod is a disputed town between Somaliland and Puntland governments. The Somaliland forces seized Las anod town from Puntland in October 2007.
