Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somali government said its forces have killed three Al-Shabab militants in Basra area of Middle Shabelle region on Wednesday, state-run news agency Sonna reported, quoting officials.
General Abdullahi Ali Anod, Somali national army commander told Sonna they killed three militants and wounded four others in an operation against the Al-Shabab.
Anod did not mention if there were soldiers dead or wounded in the operation.
Somali forces have been conducting ground operations against Al-Shabab in the regions of Middle Shabelle and Lower Shabelle since last month, both regions are major strongholds of militants.
