Speaking to VOA Somali, Bari governor Yousuf Mohamed Waeys also known as Dhedo said that the government forces have killed at least seven ISIS fighters in Bashashin area on Saturday morning.
At least three Puntland government forces were wounded in the Saturday’s fighting, according to the governor.
Last week, Puntland forces launched an attacking to take Qandala back from the ISIS militants.
In October, this year, more than 50 of ISIS militants led by ex-Al-Shabab leader Abdikadir Mumin launched an early morning attack on Qandala coastal town of Bari region and captured it without resistance.
