Galmudug declares state of emergency amid political crisis

Mogadishu-(Puntland Mirror) Somalia’s Galmudug administration has declared a state of emergency following days of political dispute between the top officials in Adado town.

According to a statement issued by Galmudug president, all areas of Galmudug have been imposed in an emergency state for three months.

In the statement, President Ahmed Duale Haaf said the step was taken to save Galmudug administration which is sinking into political crisis.

Last week, some of Galmudug lawmakers claimed to have fired their president, but Haaf described the claim as ineffective and illegal.
